My Mimic
“My Mimic” is a storage box that is crafted in cooperation with LUCCA Skills Academy. Each box is entirely crafted by hand so there will never be two that are exactly alike. Each one with its own personality crafted into it by the amazing people that make them.
At LUCCA Skills Academy young adults with special needs learn skills and crafts they can use to earn a living. Each mimic is unique, assembled by our unique employees to create a one-of-a-kind critter.
No humans or mimics were harmed in the making of “My Mimic”.
Our Story
Each mimic has been created by a few unique individuals, enhancing to the uniqueness of each box. The mimics do not come from a factory, but instead they are created in a supportive ecosystem, of workers and students.
Every individual has their place in our Sheltered Employment Enterprise Hub. Some engage in advanced techniques and express their creativity while others learn to master small but important steps in the creation process. We strive to create a place at our workshop which matches the individual’s abilities, while balancing the demands of the workplace and the unique needs of each person. Our workers and students a part of an ecosystem of friends and support. Each product bought creates meaning and purpose for those who create it.

Gaming Fanatic?
Always looking for a special container for storing your gaming dice? Looking for something unique for your card decks? Pencils, erasers, counters or trinkets, put them in your mimic and dare anyone to steal from you. (It has been suggested that the dice stored inside a mimic perform better.)
Feeling Artsy?
You can also order and buy your very own unpainted mimic and paint it your way, or you can request one of the artists on our list to paint one for you in their own special style. Alternatively, get your artsy friend to do it, it’s your baby (disclaimer: mimics should not be treated like babies, do so at your own risk.)
